What is the role of a School Social Worker?
The role of the School Social Worker is to help students understand the feelings and perspectives of themselves and others. School Social Workers help students learn coping strategies and relaxation strategies to manage stress. School Social Workers teach children and adolescents problem-solving and conflict resolution skills. School Social Workers also help students improve their social skills so that they can have more appropriate and meaningful interactions with their peers.
